IPM rolls out the welcome mat tomorrow

It’s almost time.

The IPM kicks off tomorrow and the schedule promises something for everyone. One of the first events will be the parade starting at 10:30am on Tuesday. Once the parade makes its way to the main stage, the opening ceremonies will take over from 12:00pm-1:00pm followed by a slew of bands.

Aside from the main stage, there are two other stages that will be hosting musicians for all five days. On Tuesday, the West Coast Lumberjacks will perform twice, whereas they perform three times a day for the rest of the IPM.

Tuesday also offers up several plowing matches. The morning match starts at 9:30am, then horse plowing at 10, afternoon at 11 and an event involving VIPs at 2:30pm. On Thursday, there is the Queen of the Furrow plowing at 2:30pm.

For those who wish to look to the sky for inspiration, on Wednesday the Skyhawks Canadian Armed Forces Parachute team will put on their demonstration.

Thursday will see the Queen of the Furrow speeches kick off the day and Saturday will see the Junior match at 8:30am and the first-ever Out-of-Field match at 9:00am which pits non-competitive plowers against one another for prizes. For more on the schedule, check out the IPM website.

Tickets are still available as well. Tickets cost $20 for adults 16 and older and $5 for children under 16. Kids five and younger are free. There will also be BMO Kids Day on the Saturday as kids 15 and younger will be admitted free to the grounds until 10:30am. BMO is also serving free pancakes for children.
