North Bay museum gets electric

The History of Hydroelectricity in North Bay is being showcased at the Discovery North Bay Museum.

It’s a photo exhibit by Jeff Fournier and is supported by the Ontario Power Generation.

Fournier, OPG’s communications officer, says many of these pictures have never been displayed in public before.

The story of electricity started in 1894 in North Bay with the city’s first mayor John Burke who installed a generator in his mill.

The museum will hold an exhibit opening from 2:00-3:00 pm on Thursday March 20, 2014 and feature a curator’s talk.
