Marxist-Leninist candidate concerned about nuisance bears

The Marxist-Leninist Party candidate in Nickel Belt says it’s tough to ensure safety when local decision-making authority has been removed.

Dave Starbuck uses the example of nuisance bears. Starbuck says years ago when the feds cut transfer payments to the provinces, the Ontario Liberals responded by cutting the bear program. He says that meant we couldn’t rely on the Ministry of Natural Resources to deal with nuisance bears anymore. Starbuck says bureaucrats just make problems worse.

There are four other people running in Nickel Belt including incumbent New Democrat Claude Gravelle. The remaining candidates are Aino Laamanen for the Conservatives, Stuart McCall of the Green Party and from the Liberals is Marc Serre.
