Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli has introduced a Bill to fight distracted driving. Fedeli says he’s doing that by recommending the creation of designated texting zones on Ontario highways. Texting zones would also be created in designated parking lots, bus stations and rest stops.
The concept of texting zones is now in place in New York State. Studies show people who drive and talk on their cellphones are four times more likely to crash their vehicles as opposed to drivers who keep their eyes on the road.
