The District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board has some good news. The province will keep funding to the board’s para-medicine program. The program was started as a pilot nearly two years ago and funding has been extended to next March.
Board chair Mark King says para-medicine has provided patient-focused care throughout the district and welcomes the extended funding. Under the program a paramedic works in non-emergency situations to enhance primary care in under-serviced areas.
