The Chinese engineers hired to see if it’s possible to build a rail line to the Ring of Fire have surveyed the site. KWG, one of the companies at the site, hired rail experts from China several months ago to determine if a rail line is feasible. The experts examined a route that’s 328 kilometres long.
If feasible, the line would cost the Chinese company $2 billion and in return is expected to partner with KWG. Roads would also come off the rail line connecting to several First Nations near the chromite site.
