October saw a drop in job postings in Nipissing District.
605 jobs were posted that month, down just over 10% from September.
“This month-over-month drop is likely attributed to a combination of seasonal trending and indications of an upcoming recession,” states the Labour Market Group’s (LMG) October jobs report.
However, the number of job postings is up slightly compared to October 2021, by just over 6%.
Nearly 300 unique employers posted jobs in October, about the same as last year.
The top five employers posting jobs include:
North Bay Regional Health Centre
Near North District School Board
Cascades Casino
District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board
Nipissing University
Healthcare and Social Assistance was the top hiring industry, followed by Retail Trade.
Accommodation & Food Services rounds out the top three.
Nearly 67% of the job postings in October were for full-time employment.
