More details have been released about a manhunt that took place in North Bay on Friday. A 31-year-old man was seen shoplifting at a Lakeshore Drive store when a witness called police. North Bay Police were able to track the suspect down on a bicycle. When he saw the cruisers, the suspect ditched his bike and bag and ran from the scene. The man was found two hours later with help from a tracking dog. He faces a slew of charges including three counts of theft, possession of stolen property, and assaulting a police officer. He`s also accused of stealing from vehicles in the West Ferris area and shoplifting. It is also alleged the accused:
-shoplifted numerous pieces of clothing from a retail store on McKeown Avenue on May
29th, 2015;
-threw a brick through the window of a locked vehicle and stole a purse, a wallet, and
cash on June 23rd, 2015;
-shoplifted numerous food items from a store on Lakeshore Drive on July 2nd, 2015;
-shoplifted numerous food items from the same store on Lakeshore Drive on July 3rd,
2015;
-assaulted a male resident during a police foot pursuit on July 3rd, 2015; and
-assaulted four police officers at police headquarters while under arrest on July 3rd, 2015.
