Municipalities in the area are set to see a boost from the Ontario Government.
“Our government continues to review the Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund to ensure it is sustainable and is better focused on Northern and rural municipalities that need funding the most,” said Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli.
Here is a break down of the funding announcements so far in the area:
- Bonfield – $664,100
- Callander – $577,200
- East Ferris – $838,000
- Mattawa – $1, 315,600
- Nipissing – $620,800
- North Bay – $10,207,800
- Powassan – $1,023,300
All the funding comes from the Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund (OMPF).
The government believes this will help the municipalities plan more efficiently by having the numbers earlier.
