The speed limit is coming down along two sections in West Nipissing.
The first reduction is on the west side of Sturgeon Falls for eastbound traffic.
Right now eastbound traffic sees the speed limit go from 90 kilometres an hour to 70 kilometres an hour.
The Ministry of Transportation wants traffic to start slowing down sooner before hitting the 70 kilometre an hour section so part of the 90 kilometre an hour zone is changing to 80 kilometres.
The MTO is also lowering the speed limit on Highway 64 south of Verner.
In this case, part of the stretch that’s currently at 80 kilometres an hour will be lowered to 70 kilometres an hour as you drive north on the highway.
