November job postings down in Nipissing District

What a difference a month makes with the jobs picture in Nipissing District.

The Labour Market Group says there was a 19.6 drop in job postings during November compared to October.

LMG says November saw employers list 357 job vacancies compared to the 444 listings that went up in October.

The November postings were also lower than the annual November average.

The average is 391 meaning the latest November stats saw an 8.7 percent drop in the number of vacancies at various worksites.

In terms of the top employers, the HGS call centre led the field with 42 openings.

That represents 12 percent of the jobs posted in November.

North Bay’s second call centre, Zedd Customer Solutions was next on the top employer list with 21 positions available.

Sitting in third spot with 20 openings was LSI Transport Inc.

Leisure Farms in West Nipissing has shown up again in the jobs front looking for 15 people to carry out work.

The food employer occupies the fourth slot.

In fifth is the Children’s Aid Society for Nipissing and Parry Sound.

CAS was looking to fill eight jobs.

In total, 155 employers posted job openings in November.
