Serre recognizes volunteers with awards

The volunteer work that 21 residents do across the federal Nickel Belt riding has not gone unnoticed.

MP Marc Serre has given the group of 21 Community Volunteer awards for their outstanding contributions in their respective communities.

Serre says the 21 recipients have gone above and beyond to make their community a better place in which to live.

He adds they also touched the lives of many people around them.

The recipients were determined by people submitting names of people worthy of getting a Community Volunteer Award.

Serre says each person who was named is an outstanding individual and serves as an inspiration for everyone else.

He says we can all learn from this group of 21 who he calls dedicated leaders.

Among the recipients in the West Nipissing region are Cyrille Grenier of Sturgeon Falls, Cynthia Guindon of Verner, Linda Lafantaisie-Renaud of Cache Bay and St. Charles resident Amy Schoppmann
