A 26-year-old Sudbury man is charged with three counts each of disguise with intent and robbery after three convenience stores in the city were robbed.
The robberies took place over a four week period and the method of operation used in each instance was very similar with a man hiding his face and escaping on foot.
The first robbery saw a convenience store on Lasalle Boulevard get hit the evening of October 28th.
Using a mask to cover his face, a man displayed a knife to an employee, demanded money and ran from the scene.
Police found a duffle bag and a knife discarded not far from the convenience store but there was no sign of anyone.
Two weeks later on November 13th a man wearing a gorilla mask jumped over the counter at a convenience store on Madison Avenue, displayed a knife and demanded money and cigarettes.
The man ran away with about $1,300 in cigarettes and an undetermined amount of cash.
On the evening of November 24th, a man wearing a bandana and sunglasses was is the same Madison Avenue shop, jumped over the counter and demanded the store clerk hand over money and cigarettes.
The man got away with more than $1,400 in cigarettes and some cash.
He used a bicycle to make his getaway.
Police were building a case involving the robberies and spotted a man riding a bike on November 30th.
They linked this man to the three robberies and took him into custody.
