West Nipissing Country Music veteran J.R. Aubertin was recognized and celebrated with a special plaque at last night’s Municipal Council meeting for his upcoming induction into the Great Northern Opry Hall of Fame. Aubertin, who will be the first West Nipissing-born member of the Hall of Fame, has been playing country music for over 40 years and is a familiar voice at many local and regional festivals and fundraisers. His induction happens this Saturday in Sault Ste Marie during the Northern Ontario Country Music Association’s annual awards.
