After walking the picket line for nearly a year, Bonfield municipal workers will be back at work June 16th. The employees ratified a tentative deal reached with help from a mediator although CUPE hasn’t released the vote result. In addition, five employees fired during the strike following an altercation with town council will be hired back. Concessions were a major issue in the dispute which resulted in the strike last August. CUPE claims most of the contentious points were removed.
