Gelinas: North faces silent health crisis

The NDP say the Liberals have created a health crisis in Ontario.  Nickle Belt MPP France Gelinas says the Liberals have created the crisis by closing beds and laying off hospital workers across the north.   She says in North Bay alone about 300 front-line health workers have lost their jobs over the past four year.

But health minister Eric Hoskins disagrees with Gelinas and says the Liberals continue to put money into health.  He says the government is spending a lot of money in rural and small hospitals and adds many of them are in Northern Ontario.  Hoskins says overall, the province is spending another $1 billion on health this year.
