Fedeli: Insurance health frauds costly

Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli says organized insurance fraud costs at least $1 billion in Ontario.  His comments coincide with the OPP charging more people in the health industry with fraud.  Police say in some cases, workers are identifying themselves as doctors when the reality is they’re not.

The investigation includes charges against one individual at the Addiction Canada Treatment Centre in Burk’s Falls.  Fedeli says in some cases the very people who are supposed to protect victims, encourage them to submit phony forms in order to get an insurance payout.
