A walk to raise money to build a hospice in North Bay has raised at least $56,438.18. Participants included residents along the stretch from Verner to Parry Sound and Mattawa. Nipissing Serenity Hospice is trying to raise enough money to provide a facility for end of life care in a family-type environment.
The hike, which took place in Laurier Woods, had more than 400 participants and 40 volunteers. A big donation came from RBC which kicked off the first ever annual event with a five thousand dollar cheque.
