There were some impressive area winners at a weightlifting tournament in North Bay. Algonquin student Bronwynn Sheppard won gold in the 53 kilo class and it’s the four straight year the high school student has taken first place. From Canadore, Melissa Park took home the gold in the 48-K class. Also from Canadore, Brett Sontag won gold in the 77 kilo division and set a new record in the snatch and clean and jerk. And Ricardo Celebre of St. Huberts in North Bay won the 51-K class.
