As we head into the last week of tax season, the OPP detachment in North Bay is putting out another advisory over the CRA scam. Con artists claiming to be from the Canada Revenue Agency have been calling people saying the agency is owed money.
And they threaten the homeowner with jail time if they don’t pay up. Police say this is a scam where the crooks are looking for personal information like your credit card, social insurance or bank account number. Police say CRA doesn’t make these kind of calls and is telling people don’t give out personal information.
