Sudbury’s former boxing Olympian Phil Boudreault has been shot in Quebec. Boudreault is now a high-ranking member of the Hells Angels and was shot while riding his motorbike near Lachute, Quebec. Quebec police say the shooting is linked to organized crime activity. The bullet punctured a lung, but authorities say although it’s serious, it’s not life-threatening.
Boudreault was found in a ditch after getting shot. One person claims to have heard 10 to 15 shots and police are looking for the shooters. In 1996 Boudreault, who is now 41-years-old, boxed at the Atlanta Games and finished fourth just missing an Olympic bronze medal.
