Politicians are making sure that West Nipissing has the resources and money it needs to host the 2019 International Plowing Match. John Vanthof, the MPP for Timiskaming-Cochrane, says everyone will be working together to ensure the event is successful. He will do his part to ensure that the province is involved and is certain the federal government will be involved like it was in 2009 when Earlon hosted the IPM.
Since this is the second time that Northern Ontario is hosting the plowing match, Vanthof says the learning curve isn’t as high this time. Verner will likely be the host community for the IPM because several hundred acres are needed and the community has the necessary land.
