It was a close call for a man whose ATV fell through the ice on a lake near Espanola. The man wasn’t able to crawl back onto the ice but fortunately some cottagers and local firefighters used ropes and canoes to rescue him. The rider was treated in hospital for exposure. OPP in Sudbury are warning people to watch for ice conditions as they ride their recreation vehicles following Saturday’s near-fatal incident.
