The shorelines of North Bay and Callander could see damage next week. It’s the result of warm days and nights which would quicken the ice melt on Lake Nipissing. Depending on the speed, docks and other shoreline structures could get seriously damaged. The City suggests removing objects near the shoreline if possible and ensure your sump pumps are working properly.
The City will have sand bags available if necessary and has steps to protect the integrity of waste water system. During the run-off, parents are reminded to keep children and pets well away from the fast-flowing water.
