Nickel Belt MP Marc Serre says West Nipissing is well situated to host the 2019 International Plowing Match. Serre says most of the area is agriculture-based including Verner where the plowing match will most likely take place. Serre adds, once it arrives, the entire region will benefit from this world-class event. He says the IPM will showcase West Nipissing and the north and will provide a huge economic benefit to the region.
Serre plans to help anyway he can including securing FedNor dollars to make sure the word gets out about the plowing match. The municipality was granted the event last week and it’s the second time Northern Ontario is hosting the IPM. Earlton did it last in 2009 and attracted more than 70,000 people
