The next time West Nipissing council meets, it’s going to again raise the issue of a turning lane on Leblanc Road in Sturgeon Falls. The Ministry of Transportation says the turning lane isn’t warranted after studying the roadway twice over the past four years. But Mayor Joanne Savage says the area sees a lot of traffic and that’s not going to change because there are a lot of businesses on the road that generate traffic.
Savage says the last thing council wants to do is to take action after an accident happens. Last December, council endorsed a resolution asking the MTO for the turning last December. Savage says it’s going to officially make the same request at its next meeting.
