The New Democrat for Nickel Belt finally has a report explaining why the OPP transferred their helicopter from Sudbury to Orillia. France Gelinas says the 30 page document says it’s because there are more people in Southern Ontario than in the north.
But Gelinas says using this logic leads to absurd conclusions like the north should not have any universities or a cancer care centre because it doesn’t have as many people as Southern Ontario does. Gelinas also says the OPP helicopter faces more weather groundings in Orillia because it’s next to a lake and gets a lake effect.
