Pair handed hefty moose hunting fines

Selling illegally acquired moose tags will cost two Southern Ontario men a lot of money.  The men used fraudulent means to get the tags, which they then sold to unsuspecting moose hunters. Conservation Officers with the Ministry of Natural Resources found the hunters at a lodge north of North Bay in the Marten River area.

When the hunters learned they were using illegal tags, they cooperated with the MNR investigation.  The probe resulted in fines totalling $9,900 against the two men who sold the tags.  The hunters however faced no charges because they thought the tags were legitimate.
