City runs a surplus

The city of North Bay ran a surplus in 2015.

According to Deputy Mayor Sheldon Forgette, the city’s general operations account will end the year with a $670,000 dollar surplus. Some of the reasons for the surplus include lowering fuel costs, reducing overtime, and not being able to fill available staff positions.

Some of that money will transferred to the city’s tax rate stabilization reserve, and contingency fund.
