Watch out for scammers if you’re thinking of renting a vacation spot over March Break.
The North Bay Police Service has received several complaints recently about fake rental properties being posted on Kijiji. The scammer gets a rental deposit in cash, then disappears.
Police are encouraging people to go through a trusted travel agent instead. They also suggest using a credit card instead of cash or money transfers.
