Low growth in large northern centres forecast

When it comes to growth in Northern Ontario’s two largest cities, it’s going to be modest at best.  The Conference Board of Canada says Sudbury and Thunder Bay should only expect one percent growth this year.  Last year was tough on both cities and the conference board says weak resource prices will hamper growth.  The board says mines in Sudbury will continue to struggle.  What will help Sudbury’s growth are more housing starts this year coupled with a rise in service sector activity.
