Tory leader says Liberals failing north on Ring of Fire

Progressive Conservative leader Patrick Brown is attacking the Premier’s record on the Ring of Fire.  Brown says the best the Liberals can do with the chromite discovery is keep re-announcing it in the budget. But the Tory leader says that’s all they do.  He says years after the discovery was made, and two budgets later after committing $1 billion towards the project, the Liberals haven’t spent one dollar at the site.

Brown also highlighted several instances where the Liberals have dropped the ball on healthcare in the north including New Liskeard where the community’s surgery department is closed half the time because of cuts.  Premier Kathleen Wynne deflected Brown’s criticism by pointing out her government has spent $550-million on northern highways and has pumped another $300-million into various infrastructure projects.
