North Bay Police want more SUVs

The North Bay Police Service wants more SUVs as part of their fleet.

The service is trying to replace two of their Sedans with Ford Explorers by the end of the year. They would also see their existing Ford Explorer replaced. Chief Shawn Devine says police sometimes spend 12 hours a day in their vehicles, and the back seat of the Sedan is small for loading and unloading people who have been arrested.

The cost difference between a Sedan and Explorer is about $6,000.
