New elementary school being built in North Bay on schedule

The new elementary school being built at the former Pinewood Public School site in North Bay is on its way to being finished.

The school will replace King George, Dr. MacDougall and J.W. Trusler once it is complete. Near North School Board Chairman David Thompson says it should be finished by June on budget.  Students will then be transferred for the school year beginning in September, 2016.

Thompson says the school is state of the art, and based on a model they already built in Parry Sound. The new school will be able to accommodate over 500 students. There’s no word on a name yet.
