News North Bay Polar Plunge raises $48 G's SHARE ON: Rocco Frangione, staff Monday, Mar. 31st, 2014 Special Olympics is getting $48,000. That’s thanks to Saturday’s Polar Plunge in North Bay where more than 100 people jumped one after another into Lake Nipissing. Moose Morning man Mike Monaghan counted down each jump. The original target was $10,000 but was quickly increased to $25,000 but participants blew both numbers out of the park. The event attracted hundreds of spectators.
