Mike Mantha, the MPP for Algoma Manitoulin, hopes an all-party committee has taken away valuable information during pre-budget sessions. Mantha took part in pre-budget meeting that took place in Sault Ste. Marie. He says various industries told the committee that high hydro rates in Ontario are hurting their bottom line.
Mantha hopes the committee members were listening because right now Ontario industry is at a disadvantage because of high hydro rates. The committee resumes its consultation process for two more days of hearings next Monday and Tuesday in Toronto before it makes its recommendations to the Wynne Liberals.
