The OPP is asking people to keep off of lakes and other waterways.
Someone went through the ice on their snowmobile near Powassan on Friday. Luckily, they had a screw driver, and were able to claw themselves out of the water. Frozen lakes and rivers aren’t safe for safe for sledding yet, and people heading out on their snowmobiles should bring a first aid kit with them. As of now, no trails are open in North Bay.
