The Resolute Mill in Iroquois Falls is getting a second life.
Abitibi Riversedge has bought the mill, the trestle bridge, and the golf course to oversee the redevelopment. CEO of Riversedge, Justus Veldman, says the goal is to find a use for the mill that doesn’t involve forest product manufacturing.
The decommissioning and the environmental clean-up of the mill will take about two years. That process will begin immediately. There will be a number of jobs created, however no numbers have been confirmed.
The announcement from Abitibi Riversedge was made in Iroquois Falls last night to a crowd of over 400 people last night.
