We’ll soon have a better idea of how many homeless people are living in North Bay.
Next month, the Aids Committee of North Bay will be spearheading the city’s first ever Point in Time Homeless Count. Trained volunteers will count and survey individuals who are staying in shelters, or are without shelter in the community.
This will indicate the minimum number of homeless people in North Bay. The numbers will be made public and will provide key data on the gender, age and ethnicity of the homeless. The data will also be used to track progress in the future.
