Part of the Nipigon River Bridge is open again. The new bridge was closed by the OPP yesterday when part of it split apart.
However one lane of the bridge has been determined safe and has re-opened. Traffic is now moving in an alternating fashion.
OPP are warning motorists to take their time because there’s a long backlog of traffic that will take time to whittle down. It’s not known what caused the split and crews are continuing to assess the damage.
