Ministry approves new school for North Bay
A new elementary school will be built at the former Pinewood site in North Bay. Once complete, the new school will house JK to Grade 6 students from three schools to address declining enrolment. The affected students are from Doctor MacDougall, J.W. Trusler and King George public schools. The Near North District School Board got the approval to build the new school from the Ministry of Education. However the ministry did not approve a board request to build a kindergarten to Grade 12 school for Parry Sound. The board plans to resubmit the Parry Sound application.
