The chair of community services says these is no design flaw at the John Street Bridge in North Bay. Mark King was reacting to the bike path under the bridge being flooded after the city got hit with quite a bit of rain last week. King says a combination of a water main break and the banks not being sodded or seeded caused the over flow.
However King points out Chippewa Creek is a flood plain which means it isn’t flood-free. He says the public should expect some flooding as seasons change. Last week’s flooding resulted in some negative comments on Facebook when someone posted a picture of the bike path overrun with water.
