Rutherglen plant reopening

Columbia Forest Products is reopening its veneer plant in Rutherglen.

It closed down about five years ago during the recession. Seventy employees lost their job when it shut down.

The company is investing about $1.5-million U.S. in the facility. They have plans to reopen it in spring 2016. The plant will be making birch, maple and red oak hardwood veneer.
