Burk's Falls school could close

Students of M.A. Wittick Public School in Burk’s Falls may have to get used to a new school.  The recommendation to the Near North District School Board is to close Wittick and send the JK to Grade 6 students to Land of Lakes Public School.  Land of Lakes was refurbished to accommodate the Wittick students.  Also, the Grade 7 and 8 students at Land of Lakes are going back to their home schools but the Grade 5 to 8 French immersion students will stay.  As for Magnetawan Central School, it remains open.  The public can voice their opinion to trustees before they vote on the proposed closure at the June 24th meeting.
