Regional Chief approves Throne Speech

First Nations are expecting billions of dollars in new money in the next federal budget.  That`s what Ontario Regional Chief Isadore Day has taken from the federal government`s Throne Speech.  Day says the feds are promising quality education for all First Nation children and an inquiry into missing and murdered Aboriginal women.

The feds also plan to implement the recommendations from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission which examined how First Nation people were treated in the much-hated residential schools.  The Throne Speech is silent on ending boil water advisories on reserves but Day says Aboriginal communities will work with the feds on this.
