Fentanyl Patch 4 Patch vote today

A Private Member`s Bill making it tougher to get fentanyl in Ontario is expected to get unanimous consent today at Queen`s Park.  Vic Fedeli of Nipissing introduced the Bill and it`s up for a final vote today.  Fedeli says afterward the Bill could get Royal Assent later this week making it law.  However Fedeli says it will still take time for pharmacies to start complying with the new restrictions so consumers won`t see the changes right away.

The new regs will force fentanyl users to return their used patches to drug stores before being prescribed a new one.  People have died from misusing fentanyl by overdosing on the drug.  Fedeli expects about 20 people from various communities to attend today`s vote because they have been very vocal in lobbying for the legislation.
