The fear of many students at Nipissing University has become reality.
Because of the full time faculty strike, students will not getting a reading week during the winter semester. They might also have to return early in January, depending on the length of the strike. This information was confirmed in an email sent to students on Monday.
Classes have been cancelled for over three weeks as full time faculty walk the picket lines over wages and job security. Both administration and the faculty union are meeting with the provincially appointed mediator today to see if they are ready to negotiate.
