News NDP MPP says keep agriculture satellite campuses open SHARE ON: Rocco Frangione, staff Wednesday, Mar. 19th, 2014 The MPP for Timiskaming-Cochrane wants the Liberals to keep agricultural colleges in Kemptville and Alfred open. Both campuses are satellites of the University of Guelph. John Vanthof says residents in the affected communities are not asking for a bailout but rather a chance to come up with a plan that prevents the closures. However colleges and university minister Brad Duguid says the program is simply relocating and not disappearing. Duguid adds the university has determined that’s what’s best for the students and the future of the program. But Vantof says the government should have talked to the affected communities before making an announcement with little notice.
