Couple fined for selling owls

Two North Bay residents are fined for trying to sell a mounted great horned owl and eastern screech owl.

The two owls are specially protected wildlife.

The pair was selling them on the internet and the MNR found out through a public tip.

An undercover officer posed as a buyer after having asked the couple to take the advertisement down and they hadn’t.

As a result they two are charged $1000.
