The North Bay OPP is reminding people to be prepared if they decide to explore some of the beautiful trails Northern Ontario.
Two hikers from Sturgeon Falls got lost while walking the trails at Duchesnay Falls on Wednesday. They became disoriented, and called police because they were afraid they wouldn’t make it out before dark.
Police went to the scene and turned on their sirens so the hikers could follow the sound out of the bush. Remember to bring a compass, map, lighter, water, food and cellphone if you plan on taking a hike in the area.
